Blast from the Past, or maybe not!

Today I was thinking about how things have changed over the years. Remember when we had to actually use those germ infested (infected) pay phones? And than we had to look through the phone book for the phone number, and when you got to the page you needed, it was torn out. Oh how I love my cell phone.
When my kids were babies and I would be up in the middle of the night feeding them, there was nothing on TV. That is because all the channels would shut down around 1-2 am.You would hear "We now conclude our Broadcast day" and than you would hear the National Anthem, followed by the beep tone of the Test Pattern. We didn't have a VCR's than either. Without the TV on to keep you company, it was very hard to stay awake to feed the baby.
Remember the coffee percolator, camera flash cubes, the TV knob that went from channel 2-13, a gas station driveway bell, the typewriter, rotary dial telephone, a record player, the hair dryer where you had that funny looking shower hat connected to a hose, that was connected to the hair dryer, and hanging your wash up on a clothesline. How did we cook and reheat without a microwave? lol

What items do you remember from years ago?

  1. How about cars with a carburetor that you had to pump the gas to get started when it was cold. The metal ice cube trays you filled with water and put in the freezer.

    1. I remember those metal ice cube trays were Hell to open with those handles. Than when you opened them, the ice always seemed to shred in to pieces.
